OBJECTIVES
The Seguici project (Smart tEcnologie per la Gestione delle risorse idriche ad uso Irriguo e Civile) was set up in response to the “PUBLIC NOTICE FOR THE REALISATION OF INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN THE SMART CITIES AND COMMUNITIES SECTOR”, part of the Lombardy Regional Authority’s 2007-2013 Operating Program.
The purpose of the project is “smart” development for integrated efficient management of water in agriculture and for the supply of drinking water.
DEVELOPMENT
Developed with a view to optimising water resources and supporting the work of water authorities, the module uses an SDI platform to ascertain network status and performance and assess vulnerabilities/resilience; estimate and reduced No Revenue Water (NRW); improve identification and localisation of leaks.
CHARACTERISTICS
Depending on user credentials, the service offers BASIC FUNCTIONS (map navigation and combinations) and ADVANCED FUNCTIONS (positioning of civic address on map, alphanumeric searches through simple queries).
It enables users to ascertain network status and performance and assess VULNERABILITY and RESILIENCE, estimate and reduce No Revenue Water (NRW) and improve identification and localisation of LEAKS.
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
The system was developed in an open source environment and implements the Epanet basic hydraulic model.
