- Project GIS for the State Administration: development and supply of Land Register, CDU, APF and Cemetery modules and Geosit software
- Key Solution no
- Category Italy, PA, Environment and Territory
OBJECTIVES
To provide the clients with an easy-to-use territory management tool at an affordable price. The market offers a variety of tools of this type, but none of them successfully meet both requirements.
DEVELOPMENT
The project was developed jointly with a test group of initial clients. Each client had their own particular needs, which were analysed and then harmonised to create a “list of priorities”.
This process led to the development of a variety of GIS modules, which, after the test phase, were proposed and successfully adopted by a significant number of Italian municipal authorities. The solution modules are not “closed packages”, but can be fully customised to the requirements of the individual client.
CHARACTERISTICS
The modules are integrated with the basic GIS software (“Geosit”) which is linked with the alphanumeric land register data (“Land Register”), so that users can search for and display data and locate the position in the territory.
Geosit can also be used to produce urban use certificates automatically (CDU) and to create a building dossier archive (APF) with georeferences for all data.
The “Cemetery” module is used to create an archive of deceased persons, their position and concessions, linking the data with the digital map.
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
The modules may be integrated with one another, so that the entire territorial information system can be managed through a single database. The system is very easy to use and meets the daily needs of local government employees, helping them work faster and more efficiently.
The advantages compared with other solutions are as follows:
- contained price
- possibility to customise the application to serve client requirements
- ease of use
- continuous customer support.
